“Photography is truth.” – Jean-Luc Godard https://www.snapshotsphotographynj.com/blog/2016/11/-Photography-is-truth-Jean-Luc-Godard “What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.” — Karl Lagerfeld

Since becoming a photographer several years ago, I have had the opportunity to capture so many special moments for so many special people. I understand how important those moments are and how a photo can represent so many feelings and emotions. I am thankful for friends who are there to capture those special moments for me <3

Megan & Jeremy! https://www.snapshotsphotographynj.com/blog/2016/8/Megan-Jeremy Megan & Jeremy got married a few weeks ago, on July 29, at the beautiful Lucien’s Manor in Berlin. Despite some rain in the morning, the weather cleared up and it was a beautiful, bright sunny day!

The morning of the wedding, I headed to the Staybridge Suites in Mount Laurel, where the girls were getting ready. While they were getting hair and makeup done, I went to take some shots of Megan’s gorgeous dress and ring.

The girls were relaxing and having some mimosa’s, while the girls (and even Megan’s dad) were getting pampered.

Meanwhile, my assistant Debbie was with the groomsmen getting some shots while they were getting ready.

The girls added the finishing touches and got ready to head to the park for portraits.

We decided to do a quick “first look” with dad before we left the hotel.. I think we all needed some tissues after this father/daughter moment!

Soon we were off to Silver Lake for some portraits! Debbie and the guys met us there, so now it was finally time for Megan and Jeremy to see each other before we took some photos by the lake.

Jesse & Amanda – May 7, 2016 https://www.snapshotsphotographynj.com/blog/2016/7/Jesse-Amanda-May-7-2016 Jesse and I met wayyyyy back when in the good ‘ole days of St. James high school. When Jesse messaged me about doing his wedding, I was ecstatic. I knew it would be an amazing wedding. I was not let down..their wedding was a BLAST!

Flashback to engagement pictures, last May (2015) in Cape May. We had so much fun walking around Cape May, finding fun spots for photos.  Here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session.

Meanwhile, my awesome 2nd shooter Debbie headed over to get some shots of the groomsmen getting ready.

Jesse was hard at work, but soon the guys were getting ready to go!

Of course, Elliot wanted to be part of the action. I LOVE this shot of Jesse and Elliot getting ready :)

After some finishing touches, the limo arrived and we were off to Parvin State Park for some portraits. The sky was a tad dark on the way over, but I had no worries!

Debbie and the guys arrived before we did, so they took the opportunity to get some great shots. Here are a few of my favorites…

The weather outside turned out to be gorgeous, so before joining the party we did a few more photos outside.

After Jesse and Amanda surprised everyone with their amazing choreographed first dance, Debbie and I continued to be impressed with the dance skills all night. There is no doubt that everyone had an amazing time! This group really knew how to party!

Amanda really wanted some photos with her horses, but didn’t want to risk ruining her dress the day of the wedding..smart move, Amanda :)   So instead we did a separate session after the honeymoon. It turned out to be another beautiful day!!

Christina and Bucky https://www.snapshotsphotographynj.com/blog/2016/1/Christina-and-Bucky I was really excited to shoot Bucky and Christina’s wedding this December! I have known the Casella’s forever, as well as several of the bridemaids and wedding guests. It was great to have Lindsay as my assistant for the day, since she also grew up with them! The weather was amazingly warm for December and overall it was just a wonderful day!

Lindsay and I arrived at the Casella’s house in the morning to catch some shots of the girls getting ready and some shots of the beautiful flowers and dress.

Thankful – 2015 https://www.snapshotsphotographynj.com/blog/2015/12/Thankful-2015 Last year, instead of writing something every day in November that I was thankful for, I decided to just create a list 30 of the things I am thankful for. Since I really enjoyed writing it, I decided I would do it again this year. While working on the list, I also decided to try to come up with different things than last year…so while I am still thankful for all of those things, they are not on this list. If you want to check out last year’s post, you can view it here

Just like last year, this list is in no particular order.

1. My little family of 5 (Me, Chris, Evan, Aussie, and Mollie).

2. Evan James – my perfect little man who makes me smile every day.

3. Dr. Ostrum – for being so awesome and for keeping me and my little man healthy and safe for 9 months and during delivery. I was lucky enough to see him at all but one of my check ups, AND he was the one who delivered Evan.

4. My best friends’ babies – those that are already born and those on the way – for being Evan’s best buddies and playmates :)

5. Friends who “get” me – who know exactly what I am thinking and understand me, without me even saying a word. Sometimes it amazes me just how well some of them know me, but that’s what makes them my framily.

6. Shop Rite Shop-at-home, which makes grocery shopping so much easier and quicker.

7. Debbie Basilone – for being an awesome maternity sub. I never have to worry for a second about school, because I know she is on top of things.

8. Amazon Prime – because I would be completely lost without it.

9. UPS – for delivering all of those things I order from Amazon and everywhere else online. I am sure they are sick of coming to my house 4-5 times a week, but I do greatly appreciate it.

10. My Grandpop – who recently turned 94 years old. He is hysterical and I love listening to his stories :)

11. EZ-Pass

12. Beautiful fall colors

13. Google maps (with traffic) for always helping me get where I need to get in the shortest time possible.

14. Aussie and Mollie kisses – because nothing makes you smile like a puppy kiss :)

15. Referrals – because without my awesome customers telling their friends and family about me, my business would be non-existent.

16. My treadmill – so I can run even when it’s cold or rainy.

17. Burt’s Bees chapstick. Oh, how I love Burt’s Bees.

18. My “new” computer – which is now almost a year old but allows me to edit pictures so much faster than my old one.

19. Timehop – for reminding me daily of memories from past years.

19. Music – which is so much better than TV.

20. A phone and computer full of photos and memories.

21. Friendsgiving – the chance to celebrate the holiday with ‘framily’ and for two Thanksgiving dinners.

22. Sunsets.

23. Pinterest – categorized boards are so much better than a ridiclously long list of bookmarks.

24. Coffee.

25. Correct grammar.

26. My education – from pre-school all the way to grad school….and all the lessons I learned and the people I met along the way. Way too many people take education for granted these days.

27. Sanuk yoga mat flip flops.

28. Laughter – and the friends, family, coworkers, tv shows, and things that make me laugh (like random botmoji texts from Sue at midnight.)

29. Snow Days – because nothing is better than an unexpected day off.

30. The ability to cook and bake edible, tasty foods (most of the time) and actually enjoy doing it.

Scott & Casey https://www.snapshotsphotographynj.com/blog/2015/9/Scott-Casey I first met Casey and Scott last year, when they were both in Lauren and Matt’s wedding!

Not long after the wedding, Scott popped the question and of course Casey said yes! I was so excited to be photographing their wedding this summer.

In May, we got together and did the engagement photos…check them out here!

August 1, 2015, their wedding day, was here before we knew it! It was a gorgeous day..blue skies and perfect temperature!

Both Casey and Scott got ready at the church, Grace Baptist in Blue Bell.

Casey and Scott did a great job on the details for the church and the ceremony was beautiful…

Even though it was August, the weather was perfect – not too hot or humid! Since the weather was so great, we were able to get some portraits both inside and outside after the ceremony.

Then we headed over to Anthony’s Ristorante in Drexel Hill for the Reception!

After the introductions, Casey and Scott went right into their first dance <3

Then, they invited all married couples to join them. The DJ started announcing for anyone who has been married less than 1 year to sit down, then 5 years, 10 year, etc. The goal was to see which couple at the wedding had been married the longest. Turns out, it was a 3 way tie!

After the first dance, Casey danced with her Dad and Scott danced with his Mom..Brookes - Blog_ 30 Brookes - Blog_ 31

Thankful https://www.snapshotsphotographynj.com/blog/2014/11/Thankful-1 The past few years, many of my friends have posted something that they are thankful for every day in November. So I thought this year, this Thanksgiving, I would just list 30 of the things I am thankful for (not necessarily in order.) I am thankful for so many things and sometimes it is nice to acknowledge them.

1. My husband – who among other things – puts up with me when I am crazy and sleep deprived, who takes both dogs out in the morning because my hair is still wet and it is cold, and who does all the “dirty work” around the house.

2. A loving family that lives close-by, the holidays we spend together, and the support they give me through all of my endeavors.

3. Old friends and new friends – all of them who are from different parts of my life but all who are important to me for so many reasons.

4. Aussie and Mollie, for always making me smile and making me feel loved <3

5. My photography business, and all of my wonderful customers who have supported me in the past few years.

6. My American freedoms – and the men and women who fought and risked their lives to allow me to have those freedoms.

7. My mom, who is always there for me when I need her.

8. My sister, who has always supported me (and makes great signs) and is my sidekick for holidays and family events.

9. I am thankful that my friends married such wonderful people – many of which have become my best friends too. I do not take for granted that we can all get together and have the best times.

10. For Lindsay, who has been my best friend for so long, I can not list all the reasons why I am thankful for her <3

11. My 2 legs, which have carried me thousands of miles, 2 marathons, several half marathons, and countless runs.

12. Food to put on the table (and a fridge that is stocked, especially today with leftovers.)

13. For my friends Matt and Ben – my boys from high school who will be my boys for life.

14. For Allison, who is not only an amazing friend, but an amazing assistant.

15. My students (most of them) who always keep things interesting.

16. The dysfunctional team 7, who is like a family to me. We may all be slightly crazy, but that is why we work so well together.

17. A paycheck that comes twice a month.

18. A warm and safe place to live.

19. My college friends, Danielle and Rebecca. Meeting you guys was the best part about Rider and I am so glad you are both in my life.

20. My 2nd family, the Pitts. Even though you are not my neighbors anymore, you are still my people. And extra happy my running buddy/brother Nick is recently engaged to such a great girl!

21. All of my awesome assistants – you have no idea how valuable you are and how much I appreciate you!

22. Wine..to get me through the rough days :)

23. My health.

24. My subaru.

25. In-laws who live 7 houses away…who are always taking care of Aussie, and always helping us fix things around the house.

26. My fireplace..which makes all the days warm and cozy.

27. Sharpie pens..grading papers is so much better with them.

28. I am thankful that I live on the east coast, where I get to experience hot summers with the beach, and also cold winters with snow.

29. Technology – so many things in our lives would be so much more difficult without it.

30. Friends reruns on TV.

Danielle and Tom https://www.snapshotsphotographynj.com/blog/2014/11/Danielle-and-Tom I was super excited when Danielle asked me to photograph her and Tom’s wedding! This weekend we met up at Red Bank Battlefield to take a few engagement shots. I LOVE this one of the happy couple

What a gorgeous ring!
